I am direct and goal-oriented . I am very friendly, and I use humor when appropriate. I will not beat around the bush or answer your questions by saying “what do you think?” I will get to know you over several sessions, and then assertively address the problems that you want to address. I take a lot of pride in my skill and knowledge, and I take success in therapy very seriously.
I tend to see clients between six and nine months, and I rarely see anyone for more than a year and half. If you are looking for a therapist who can help guide you over the long term, we have wonderful therapists here who are very skilled at that.
On that note – I try to help my clients not take things seriously, unless it is appropriate to do so. I use humor frequently, and I am very informal in my approach. I used to consistently win pie eating contests before they seem to have vanished. I played roller hockey before I got old and I’m trying to start a rock band after I got old. I believe that it is important to find a therapist who is the right fit for you. If you are looking for particular personality traits, ask our scheduler Cindy, and she can direct you to the right person.
